Hablamos español. Consultations and documents in Spanish at no extra cost.

Free, thirty minutes, no obligation

Request a confidential consultation

Three short steps. We will call you within one business day, and the same day if you mark the matter urgent. Nothing is filed and nothing is shared.

Step 1 of 3

What is this about?

Pick the closest one. If none of them fit, choose the last option and tell us in your own words.

A little about the situation

Nothing here is filed anywhere. It helps us assign the right attorney to your call.

Please do not send documents or confidential details through this form until we have confirmed we can act for you.

How should we reach you?

If it is not safe for us to leave a message, say so and we will not.

Please tell us your name.

Please add a phone number we can reach you on.

Please add a valid email address.

Request received. Thank you.

An attorney or paralegal from Rivera Family Law will call you within one business day, using the contact method you chose. If you marked the matter urgent, we aim to call the same day.

  1. We run a conflicts check against our existing client list. This is required and it is quick.
  2. We call you for a thirty-minute confidential consultation, in English or Spanish.
  3. You receive a written summary with the case type, the deadlines and a fee estimate.

If you are in immediate danger, call 911. For anything urgent, call us on (915) 555-0170.

This is a demo website. Nothing you entered was transmitted or stored.

What happens next

  1. A conflicts check first

Before we can discuss your matter in detail we check that we do not already act for the other party. It takes a few minutes and it is required.

  2. Thirty minutes, on the phone or in person

Either office, or a video call. Evening slots are available at the East Side office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

  3. Questions, not a sales pitch

We want dates, documents and what you actually want the next two years to look like. That is enough to give you real answers.

  4. A written summary within 48 hours

The case type, the statute, the deadlines already running, the realistic timeline and a fee estimate by stage.

  5. No retainer taken on the day

We do not ask for money at a first consultation. Take the engagement letter home and call back if it still feels right.

What to bring

Come anyway if you have none of it. A consultation with the paperwork in hand is worth three without it, but an empty-handed consultation still beats waiting another month.

  • Any court papers you have been served with, including the date you received them
  • Any existing final order, decree or protective order
  • The last two federal tax returns and your most recent pay records
  • A list of accounts, property and debts, even approximate
  • Dates: marriage, separation, children's birthdays, when things changed
  • A one-page note of what you want the next two years to look like

Confidentiality, and one important limit

Attorney-client privilege attaches at the consultation, before you hire us and whether or not you do. What you tell us stays with us, subject only to the standard exceptions for a stated intention to commit a future crime and mandatory child abuse reporting.

The limit is this: sending this form, or an email, does not make you a client and does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship. Until we confirm in writing that we can act for you, please do not send documents or details you would not want the other side to see.

If it is not safe for us to leave a voicemail, choose that option on the form and we will not. If you would prefer a text message or email only, say so and that is what you will get.
